"Hallo Herr Paulus,

anbei mit etwas Verspätung zwei Fotos Ihrer Hörner in einer Kombination mit Teilen einer uralten JBL4350.

Der TAD-4001 Treiber zusammen mit Ihrem Horn übernimmt hier den Part des Mittel-Hochtöners.
Der original JBL Schlitzstrahler und der alte JBL 2"-Treiber werden nicht mehr genutzt,
so dass die Box jetzt als 3-Wege Kombi mit 2x15" im Bass, 1x12" in den Low-Mid und mit dem TAD als Mittelhochtöner läuft.
Die Trennfrequenzen liegen bei 100Hz und 1kHz.

Angesteuert wird das ganz voll aktiv von drei McIntosh Stereo-Endstufen. Die Contollerfunktion mit FIR- und IIR-Filtern
wird von einem Four-Audio HD2 ausgeführt.

Die Kombination ist dadurch um mindestens zwei Klassen besser geworden als im Ur-Zustand, wenngleich sie jetzt natürlich nicht mehr original ist.
Der ursprüngliche Zustand lässt jedoch durch einfaches Umstecken wieder herstellen, da nichts aus der Originalbox ausgebaut oder verändert wurde.

Project with Altec 806A, Isophon woofer and Stereo Lab horn

The horns are excellent! Dynamics are stunning yet the sound character is pleasant and smooth. The cross over still needs optimizing but is slowly coming along. The Fostex super tweeters might turn out to be redundant in the end;

this is still the play-around-phase. Of course the cabinetts have no back panel - nothing comes close to open baffle, especially for the woofers!
